The Conservatives are preparing for a tough election, where they could lose hundreds of seats due to anger over Partygate.
Some Tory MPs believe a poor set of results could force Mr Johnson to resign as Prime Minister.
The Financial Times reported that a Tory MP from the North expected the party to lose 750 seats next week, while another from the South said he feared the party would suffer if Tory voters stayed. at their home.
Poor performance in local elections could provoke a leadership challenge.
Mr Johnson’s predecessor, Theresa May, lost some 1,330 seats in May 2019 and announced her decision to step down within a month.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson has said he will fight for every vote ahead of local elections.
Speaking at the Bury Football Club on Monday April 25, he claimed the Conservative Party had plugged ‘four times as many potholes’ as their rivals.
Mr Johnson said: “As you would expect, we are fighting for every possible vote. The case is clear: it is conservative advice that makes you pay less.
“We are the party that does the most to empty your bins and fill potholes. Conservative councils fill four times as many potholes. We believe in providing value for money.
Mr Johnson has been told public fury over Partygate will result in substantial losses for Tories at the polls.
The Prime Minister may face further fines from the Metropolitan Police for breaking lockdown laws ahead of Election Day.

If Tories suffer in local elections, should Boris Johnson quit?
Tory rebels are reportedly planning coordinated action to oust Boris Johnson after local elections if the Conservative Party is beaten in the polls.
The i reports that the rebels are being told to “refrain” from initiating a leadership contest until after May 5 or that the police issue more Partygate fines to maximize their chances of success.
Some Tory MPs are said to have written post-dated letters of censure to the chairman of the 1922 committee, Sir Graham Brady, to be sent a day after the local election.
A source told the i the rebels were working in sync to oust Mr Johnson.
They said: ‘They work together more now, One Nation and 2019 Tory MPs are more coordinated.

If Keir Starmer is fined, should he resign?
Mr Johnson and Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak have been called to resign after being fined for parties at 10 Downing Street breaching COVID-19 restrictions.
Labor leader Sir Keir Starmer criticized the Prime Minister and Chancellor and called for their resignation.
He tweeted: “Boris Johnson and Rishi Sunak have repeatedly broken the law and lied to the British public.
“They both need to resign. The Conservatives are totally unfit to govern. Britain deserves better.

Sir Starmer was accused of breaching coronavirus regulations on April 30 last year while having a beer with colleagues in the office of Durham City MP Mary Foy.
In February, Durham Constabulary said it did not consider Sir Starmer’s actions to be a breach of the rules, but the force has come under pressure following recent fines in Downing Street.
Conservative MP for North West Durham, Richard Holden, has called for a fresh inquiry after allegations of evidence from a quiz and social event organized by the local Labor Party on the same evening.
Speaking on BBC Radio 4’s Today program on Tuesday, Sir Keir said: ‘Police looked into this months ago and came to a clear conclusion ‘no rules were broken’, and that is because no rules were broken.”
